We never know whose life we’re impacting, and how they might impact ours. It's with our choices that we can turn ordinary days into extraordinary ones.
This is a great story. I will be 77 very soon and besot with medical issues. If only I could do this. I almost went parachuting back in my 50's but my wife and insurers convinced me not to do that. Would a shoulda coudsa. To everybody out there DO IT.
Thank you for sharing, James! That hesitation is something we all wrestle with. There are always “what if’s”. It’s that leap of faith that’s the hardest to do. But I am sure there are other ways to connect with people and try new things that aren’t strenuous activity. Even talking with strangers at a coffee shop or grocery store line… you never know who you’ll meet! Sometimes the most days can turn extraordinary for this reason. PS: how did you find my newsletter just curious :)
What an inspiring read. I can relate to this story quite well because I recently started chatting online with a classmate from school with whom I hadn’t spoken in 15 years. We connected instantly and dived straight into deep conversations about life. It’s the bond like these that makes life interesting that’s for sure.
It was featured on Substack Reads. Is it surprising that a random stranger found your story and is commenting on it? Because it always surprises me when someone reads my posts and resonates with it. I end up feeling same curiosity as you.
Thank you!! I ended up googling it and the Substack Reads came up :) I was wondering where all the new influx of readers had come through haha. Most of my audience are my friends so was wondering where all the new strangers found me. So YES makes me so happy others found this story and resonated with it. Appreciate you reading
Lovely story, a reminder that humans and the physical world are way more interesting than screens.
Agreed! The internet can help connect us but the real connection happens in person. Appreciate you reading!
